Parameter types

The following types can be used in the parameter list to Tool.register to specify the available parameters for a Nova tool.

Single values, primitives

These parameters hold a single value. Some of them can be restricted to a range.

• bool boolean value

• enum enumeration

• int integer value

• float float value

• string text string

• degrees angle value

Ranges

These parameters hold a lower and an upper value and are typically represented by sliders with two handles in the user interface.

• floatrange range between floating point values

• intensity8range range between integer values, restricted to 0-255

• intrange range of integers

• percentrange range between percentages, restricted to 0-100

Crowns

Crowns with some Nova functionality for use as results and/or parameters.

• Point

Other

• action defines a function that can be called by pressing a button in the user interface, or by using the command channel

• binary binary data, set via file upload

• result reference for referencing results of other tools using Tool.reference

• group and expandable-group pseudo parameter types for grouping parameters in the user interface in sections
